Default Anybody Running a Stage IV Kit on Bagger?

I am considering a Stage IV kit on an Ultra Glide and am wondering what riders' experiences have been.

i'm running the harley part number 27544-10, which is in the newer screamin eagle catalog, there is an ammended version of the catalog which just came out a month or two ago. 10.5 forged pop up pistons, 259-e cams which have .579" lift, heavier clutch spring, screamin eagle pro super tuner=sepst, and from my experiences, this kit absolutely rocks. i gained 35 more horsepower and 30+ ft lbs of torque. none of it is peaky either. the curves are not so much a curve as it's linear on the dyno sheet. i know it sure runs great, and has not been finicky at all. i've ridden it for just over a month, and based on the results of my build, it's the build which they recommend highly. i can see why. i'm very happy with it. i also added the mechanical compression releases and a vance & hines 2 into 1 pro pipe. those two are a big help. study that part number and you'll see why it works great. i can email you a copy of my dyno sheet if you pm me with your email address, as i haven't a clue as to how to send anything here in the forums. if i did, i'd have a signature pic, ya know?

Do not run a Stage IV kit that has one of those 260 camsets, I have a Stage IV but I am running the 251 camset(the 259e is the new version of the 251) and that would be the only cams that I would recommend to run in this kit. The 260's has a waaaaaay too late intake close at 55 and my 251's are at 46 and I would not recommend any later closing than this or your bike will be a dog below 3500 rpms. I have the Stage IV but have the cnc ported heads and the 251 cams , on my 2008 FLHX. I was able to have some parts substituted , this was put together by a indy shop.

Default Stage 4 here

Not being overly sold on SE items, I put together my own Stage 4. HAd the cyl and piston work done by Scott, bought the heads from Randy & R/R. Got heads with Manley high lift spring pacs, Roller rockers with corrected geometry arms and mounts, Woods 7H cams, Smith Chrome Moly Adj PR's, TTS Mastertune, High Flow AC. Currently running FulSac duals but getting ready to move to a 2 into 1 pipe for more bottom end. 965lb bike, rider, passenger and trailer just needs all the low end it can get. Considering either a D & D or V and H Propipe. Will try and decide today and place order.

If you are thinking of truly major tuning I suggest going to an engine specialist and discussing what you want. They can probably offer a range of compatible components that will work well together and give top performance for your bucks. There are a few who post regularly on HDF I would happily use!

Default stage iv

Let me start by saying, im no motor expert as im sure youll soo get. I as em did went with the SE stage iv, i talked to the dealer actually i spoke with the shop foreman who i have a great relationship with, no not like that, wanting a little more than my stock 09 had, he sent me in this dirrection, dont know what cams, heads pistons and to be honest i dont care! This thing rocks hits hard and pulls strong, all the way through! would do it again no question.

Im sure you can go part it out, mix and match my dealer is standng behind what i had done, only miles away its worth it to me!!! fire away, tell me what i should have done or not im ok with it, im in love with my stage iv other than the se air cleaner, bigger throttle body, had to have it but i have long legs it seems to be in the way!! hope it helps i will post dyno sheet after a thousand miles

I put the stage III in my 2010 street glide because the dino sheets in the catalog were very close in tork with the stage IV and I didnt think the extra money was worth it.I was scared of the 260 cam that also comes with the stage IV.I had Dan Vance Racing build my heads to the 259e cam and added a vance and hines pro pipe.I have only 600 miles on it and havnt had it put on the dino yet.All I know is Im going to get a speeding ticket. Its pulls hard, sounds mean and is hard to put away for the night

This is the setup my shops owner wants me to install, after I told him I just wanted cams, maybe a 103. He said it's got all I would need. He's running a 113 in his personal bike.

How did your alls gas milage end up? I mean with normal riding, not gunning it all the time. Maybe I asked that to soon, huh?

my bike is running over 40 mpg, now that i've settled down a bit. still romp on the damm thing every chance i get though. it's tough to keep from it when ya got 90 ft lbs of torque at 1700 rpm's and it just keeps climbing, finally reaching its peak at 5500. my fuel economy did come up considerably though, as the dyno wizard set it up to where it honks when you hit the loud handle, and gets great gas mileage when in closed loop at highway speeds. streetclyde, sounds like we have a very similar build.
