Default I make tools i need

I have a background in tool&die and have a lathe and other equipment at my home. As a hobby for years i make tools for repairing bike engines, outdrives, skimobiles whatever i own so i can do repairs myself. I saw what it cost to replace the rear belt and though that it would be good to have the tools to replace my own. There is a possibility of something damaging the belt at any time and i don't think warranty would cover it ever. The belt has a very good chance of lasting a long long time. But if i ever picked up something on the road that damaged it i would be really happy knowing that i can have it repaired for the cost of a few seals and gaskets. I also help out a lot of friends that ride and would have trouble finding the extra cash to pay a dealer to replace their belt. So thats the story of my tool questions.

I have replaced several belts over the years. The first one probably didnt need it but I did it to be safe. I made my own socket also. I welded a 1/2" drive deepwell onto a 3/4"drive socket that fit the nut. Cant think of the size right now and its in the bottom of a toolbox somewhere. With this set up you can still use a torch wrench if needed. Good luck, ride safe
