Default Inner Fairing Edge Trim

Putting my fairing back together and I noticed that the cheap edge trim that H-D uses really does not do the trick very well. It just don't seem to cover very well. Has anyone used anything else in place of the stock trim? I would like to find something more flexable and wider,if anyone has any suggestions it would really be helpful.

Thanks Guys

I'm at the very same point in reassembly of my inner/outer fairings. The Ultra only had the right side present when I bought the bike, and part of it was hanging loose. I bought new R/L pieces, but haven't installed them (still repairing a broken stand-off mount). Can anyone tell me if we glue these in place, or just press on? Thanks.

I use a dab of clear silicone to hold them in place.

Juke:
Last year on a road trip, I had mine replaced at Hot Rod Harley in Muskegon Mich.. Luckily they didn't have the Harley edge trim in stock. They used an after market edge trim that is wider, more pliable and a tad thicker. In my opinion it is a far better product. i would look around, the OEM piece is crap!! I had my dealer put 2 on my bike previous and they just didn't last.

I bought some automotive trim from Auto Zone but I did not really care for it. It is only 1/8" wide and not very flexible. I really would like to get something at least 3/16" in width and alot more flexible. I have looked all over the internet and the only stuff I see is sold in 100' strips for 2-3 hundered dollars. I will try McCallester Carr 1FLTRI4ME. Hey BCdog if you can find out what they used on your bike I would really appreciate it.
