Any one going to attempt this?
It's called the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge. Check out the web site. Would love to be able to do this. But not enough funds or time.

I looked into it about 6 or 8 months back and my issue was with the lack of complete rules and details on their web site. How exactly is the start being made? How will the stepped directions be provided? How long will the individual stops be open? 1 hour, 2 hours? If you get delayed will there be someone there to provide the next set of instructions or will you just be out of luck after a set period? If the bike is "chipped" as they say, will any resulting tracking that indicates "speeding" invoke the rule against breaking the law and cause disqualification from the prize which they say will not be immediately awarded anyway?
Also, I heard that there may be a past "history" involving the ride sponsors involving possible questionable business practices.
Not to discourage anyone, this may be completely upfront and I hope it is. As I said, a full and complete posting of any and all details and rules on their web would surely help.

Everything that Route66Rider said and then some.
Lets see, I'm going to throw in $1000 to ride with 999 people I don't know all scrambling to get to the last checkpoint first? Right. With prize like that I'm sure everyone will be honest and trustworthy? Cannonball Run anyone? Somebody please wear a Captain Chaos costume!
I think I'll rent a room in Alaska and see who exactly shows up to see how they make out. You have a better chance buying tickets for local hospital lotteries and woud still have enough $$$ left over to go for a hell of a long ride.
To any of those that sign up and are chosen. Good luck, stay safe and have fun above all else.
