I've got the flat black HD heat deflectors on my 01 EGC. Installation on the right upper screw SUCKED but I got it done and they look great.
Good luck.

I prefer the HD ones. RJs are very popular, but I just prefer the look of the HD ones to the leather look of the RJs, for MY bike. (Street Glide) On the right bike, like a RoadKing Classic or an Ultra, (more old school or traditional look) I would probably like the look of the RJ's just fine.

I also like the fact that the HD ones are held on completely with screws. Im not a fan of double sided tape to attach these things, like the Kury units use at the front. (not sure about RJ's)

I will say this, on the PRE-09 frame, the HD ones are a BITCH to put on. There is one allen screw that you damn near have to sacrifice an allen wrench by grinding it down to 1/4" long in order to get it into where you need to be. And your dinking with those silly little clip nuts in a couple places, which are really fun to get onto the frame positioned correctly in the tight space your working in. Took me over an hour to get them on my 07.

On the 09-later frame, one screw is still a bit tricky, but its nowhere near as bad as prior years. Only about a 10 minute job on my 09.

We sell a lot of crotch coolers on this forum {yep we are also a sponsor here } and they are very easy to install and work as advertised or your money back.. They have a large footprint, and will help you out a great deal while sitting in traffic..
They can be customized with studs,or conchos to go along with the theme of your bike or we sell them plain. I promise if you are not %100 satisfied with any of our products send them back for a full refund..as there are a bunch of links on this forum about our crotch coolers here is one..https://www.hdforums.com/forum/gener...h-coolers.html
