Question Clearview Winshield

Any opinions on the Clearview taller windscreens? I have an 8.5" Klock Werks and I'm really disappointed with it. Looks cool, but isn't really more functional than the stock toe nail was. The thunder sound inside my helmet on my 600 mile weekly commute is unbearable. If I crouch down just a bit, it's dramatically more quiet so I'm thinking a taller shield might help.

I'm not looking to the the boy in the bubble, but I don't care to be the boy in the hurricane anymore either. I'm considering the Clearview XL or XXL. I want something before my Texas to Canada trip in July.

Any insight appreciated.

I have a 12" Clearview recurve on my Ultra Classic. Really like in. Helps the wife when riding two up also. But it's on a Ultra, not a Road Glide. They are nice to deal with also. Give them a call.

I have the stock height tinted Clearview on my RG. It is the BEST windshield I have tried so far. I have tried the KW 12", the Cee Baily 14", the stock windshield, and the Stock height Clearview. The KW and Cee Baily both funnel all of the air to my ears and forehead, and I am not a tall person (5'9"). The tint and the slight curve give the Clearview a slightly better look than Stock and it's the only design (IMO) that improves upon the stock windshield. Again, IMO, the KW and Cee Baily both look great, but they are both clearly form over function.

I would eagerly recommend the Clearview to anyone. The only downside to the Clearview is their 5 week lead time.

Hope this helps.

Your local Klock Werks dealer should have demo shields of all sizes. I would get with them and see if they have a taller one to try for a few days. My guess is that the 8-1/2" just isn't tall enough for you. Are you a taller guy or have a higher-sitting seat?

I agree...Clearview is the way to go. I had not heard of their products until I got my RG. The previous owner had put an oversize Clearview on it. I think mine is the GT Large or GT X-Large. I like an oversize shield and would get one again.

I have an 8" clearview with recurve. I can see over it, but still get good wind protection. I am 5' 9" tall with a 32" inseam. Anything taller than 8" interferes with my vision.

This is the first bike I have had with a windshield that I look over instead of through. I will never go back, especially when I get caught in a rain. Visibility is much better now.

Plus one. I am the the same height and have the same windshield. Works well for me. My seat also puts me about 1.5" lower though.

You can also look at Windvest.. They are making a 12" recurve that has excellent reviews.. (I am also a member of Roadglide.org) And we talked about the diff between all the windshields a lot on there..

I used to run Windvests on some of my other bike and liked the thickness etc.

I bought a 12" Harley Windsplitter for my RG, but too small...

So I am selling that without riding it, (new) to buy a Windvest...

I rode Clearview's on my 08 SG... OK.. Nice shield.
But I think at this time, with built time and price.. You can get the Windvest right away..

Note: It has a wider recurve on it and will take away some of the head shoulders buffeting..

I have a taller CV on my bike and notice you are in Dallas. PM me and you can give it a try if you want. Check my sig, I don't remember which one it is.

I remember that stock height is actually 1" over on a 2010. It looks good and does a great job of reducing the wind. I even have lowers on so you'll get a good assessment. I'm over by Firewheel.

Buying a shield for a 2010 Glide is like pulling teeth. I had a Kury Airmaster, terrible, clearview medium, too high and looking through it, now I have a 12" Windvest and I'm very happy with it. I can see over it & it gives minimum wind and noise. I think I could have gone with a 14" & still looked over it but the 12" is fine. I'm 6'.
