Default Brembo upgrade for 07 and earlier

Now that I've added speed to the bike, I'm wondering if any of you have done a brembo retrofit to the 07's and earlier, what it cost, what's needed and how well it worked.

Be sure to read the link provided by WVULTA. It's a through description with pictures and part nos. of what's involved.

If you want to see my thread (in which I provide the same link that WVULTRA provided), here's the link:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...d-at-last.html

The difference between my install and WVULTRA's description are: (1) '07 VROD calipers (silver); (2) HD stainless brake lines; and, (3) chrome m/c.

Good luck with your project.

Didn't answer your other questions in my earlier post. Major improvement in braking power from my '04 OEM set-up that was well-maintained. Costs will vary based on how hard you shop. Check Ebay often, and local HD stores for take-offs. The big components are calipers, rotors, master cylinder (and clutch perch to have matching levers), levers, and brake line.

I installed 08 Brembos on my 07. Bought the complete take off system from a forum member. Got calipers, brake lines, rotors, master cylinder and even the clutch perch since it is slightly different from 07 to 08. I installed Lyndall pads and I've been happy. No noise at all and they do a much better stopping especially when I'm loaded to the max. Most of my riding is 2 up and my wife DOES NOT pack light! LOL

Here is a link to my Photo album with a some great info I got from a couple forum members. Let me know if this helps.
