Default Pulling front fender on Ultraglide

I'm going to pull my front fender for some paint work. I'm assuming it's a straight forward job. Anyone who's done it know of any tricks or things to watch out for? (got a manual and the parts catalog).

Jack up the front high enough to get the wheel out, remove the wheel, knock down the lock tabs on the fender bolts, put a block under the back of the fender, remove the rear bolts and rest the fender on the block, remove the front bolts, hold fender in the middle, remove block, lower fender straight down fork sliders and out the front.

+1 Awesome!

Sometimes to put some painters tape around the bolt holes on the fender before installing.... For some reason I sometimes scrape the paint up in that area while mounting things back up. Guess I get in a rush.

That and squeeze the fender when your lifting it up the sliders.

Darn - kinda hoping this could be done without taking the wheel off but now I see it can't. Well the only reason I was going to take the fender off was to save me leaving the bike at the dealer (30 miles each way) versus dropping the fender off - so I guess I'll drop the bike off instead. Thanks Doc and LP!

did you read the pages on front fender removal? - my book says to remove calipers... I have found this to be the easyest way in the past - also, don't forget to unplug the fender light wire

To be honest I just threw this post up here before I looked at the manual - I was in a hurry and wanted to give a little time to get a response. Thanks tho!
