[quote=customrk05;6473332]I want to the change the handle bars on a 2010 Street Glide, but I keep getting different info from different HD dealers.

One tells me it might take 8-12 hours labor replacing all cables, brakes, clutch, wiring. etc. Another says 5-6 hours, says the throttle wiring doesn't need to be changed. A third says 4 hours and includes everything I need. Obviously the 4 hour guy is the one I am considering. BUT I can't seem to find anyone who can tell me everything that actually needs to be done when changing the bars on a 2010 bike. I will be using H-Ds 2" pull backs.

Clutch Cable 38922-09 is only cable you need. the others are ok.
you need a good pair of snap ring pliers to get that clip under the tranny cover. and be careful with the molinex connector when disconnecting your wires inside the bar for the throttle

I just did wild1 bagger bars on my SG.....easy to do does take time I had radio out so it made it a snap to change....running wire inside is the part takes the tim to do.....

on a side note not to happy with my bar elketion at this point...there is a gap betwee the controls and where the bagger bar gets bigger, wild1 blames the grip...spent hr at HD yesterday trying to pick out a new set and some look longer but do not care for the design so i wennt with kyeryokin (sp) they look little longer than HD verson....will get new grips on tomorrow

If you are going with the HD bars then get the parts book (AKA bible) look up the handle bars you want and it tells you what cables you need. As far as I know the 2 in. reach handlebars on a 2010 need nothing just checked for a friend of mine on his 2011 as long as it is TBW.

Just did KW 2+2 on my 2010 s/g. Was able to use all my cables.
Will go with a +4 or so clutch cable when i get around to it.
Think i'm gonna like these bars. They com way back.
The job is time consuming but super easy. Look for write ups on this site.

Went to local stealer when shopping for bars and he said i would need 800.00
in parts????
Seems like handlebar change is a license for them to bend you over.
Total cost.....80.00

I put WO578 on and put a longer clutch cable on. The wiring went all internal. The wiring would be fine up to a 12 inch bar. 10 bar put a clutch cable on. Do it yourself and you will learn à lot and save you à bunch of money
