now that's funny captain itch. those things are real sleepers. with slight mods they can produce astronomical horsepower. i've heard of priuses doing the quarter in under 10 seconds, and the top speed? just look at one and you'll notice that the speedometer needle is bent. i know you were referring to the faulty brakes. the driver of the prius likely had a bumper sticker saying, "get thee behind me satan"

 

I think we're all going to be watching behind us a little more. RIP AZ riders

 

I was rear ended once. Thirty years and three months ago. I tend to look in my rear view every time I stop. I have avoided a few since then. My recent scooter tactic, is stopping at an angle. This way I have a better view and a quicker, better launch angle already established if somebody doesn't stop. A quick pop of the clutch and I'm away! Maybe not to a desired location, but better than if I sat where I was.
Call me Paranoid, but I have been hit twice, hit twice, and had multiple other incidences over the years.
