Default 99 Road King gas tank

Which model years of gas tanks will work on a 1999 fuel injected Road King? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that 99 & 2000 will fit, I know that 01 & later won't because they went to the Delphi FI in 01. I'm not sure if earlier 97-98 tanks will fit, it has to be a FI tank for sure, hopefully one of the experts will know for sure.

'99-'01 will fit. 2002 was the first year for Delphi. However, some 2002 tanks will fit. They had some left over earlier tanks that they plugged the extra FI line hole up and used on Delphi bikes.............Basically, you need a tank with 2 FI line ports on the bottom.

My buddy has a 2002 RKC with one of the old tanks on it, but the newer FI.

xxxflhrci is correct here. I rebuilt my '00 and used a '01 NOS tank. Some '02 tanks do have the two hole setup for the Magneti Marelli FI, second hole is plugged for use with the Delphi. So a two hole tank 99~01 and some 02 will work.

Yes....When I saw that detail on a 2002 bike, I knew it would be good to have a pic of it in the future...LOL.
