Default Arizona ride

Going to Arizona (from Las Vegas) next week for a spring ride. We are looking at the Bisbee area. Anyone been around there, is there any good ride suggestion? We plan on taking I-40 to 191 then south to Duncan to pick up another friend. Hope the weather holds up, looking forward to nice ride!

Tombstone is a right up the road from Bisbee. Stop in Big Nose Kate's.

So...hot is HOT. I've never been to Arizona, but even on it's worst days, how bad does it FEEL?

From what I've been told, it really is not bad. Here in Missouri, it gets so humid, that it feels like you are walking through a wall of heat and sweat. Summer feels rather miserable at times. But, then again, I've never been in AZ through the summer-time. I'm hoping to visit this summer, just to see what it is like. Been thinking of moving around there in a couple of years.

I'm from Las Vegas, I know about riding in heat. They say it's dry heat, but trust me, when it's 115 it doesn't much matter. Hot it hot! Not bad when riding, but a bitch in city traffic.

Hmmm...so, how do you usually gear up in the heat of summer?

Around here, long-sleeves can still be done, but no matter what, you're going to come home drenched during the hottest days. During the summer, I usually go with short sleeved button up shirts. They are a little stiffer than t-shirts so they don't feel like they get tossed around so much, but still keep me cooler.

After a decent ride, it is shower time around here! That is for sure!

How HOT is HOT? OK try this grab the hair dryer sit in a chair and turn it on High aim it at your face. That's what it feels like. Always bring plenty of water, sunblock and keep your skin covered. White long sleeve shirts work great. The hot dry air blowing over your skin will dehydrate you before you know it. In the summer we normally ride in the high country. Been out here 5 yrs from OH and I love it.
