Thanks for the replies (well, to most of you). Appreciate comments from those who know what they are talking about. We'll have to find another area in the south this year for our annual ride down. Probably back to WV, Tenn and NC. Lotsa nice roads.

You are soooooo right. Way too many good places to ride to for anyone to go somewhere the're NOT WANTED.

Looks good, but a bit too early for us. Riding down from Ontario in April is not fun. Even in early May the first day of riding is around freezing till we get south of Pittsburgh. We've done that OK, but April would be a bit too much.

We're thinking about the Blue Ridge Parkway for the end of July. Never been to one of the bigger rallies other than Americade and if that is the average for a rally then we probably won't bother with any of the others. I'd like to experience Sturgis some time, not sure when. Love the area in the Black Hills and western US. Can't wait to retire and spend summer wandering.

We used to enjoy Myrtle Beach Rally. Last year was not as enjoyable and we felt unwelcome. Police checking DB levels and seemed to be looking for a reason to stop you. We're headed to the Thunder on the Beach this year to see what it's like.

I went in 08 & 09, had a great time but I will not go back since we're not wanted. I'll spend my money were they appreciate you.

I have always stayed in the campgrounds way south Murrells inlet..All the great bars, cops cool, many vendors.. Murrells inlet is where its at
