Thumbs down Insurance Got Me by the Nads

Just got my insurance bill for coming year, oooouuucccchh! Almost doubled. From $650 last year to $1299 this year. Same coverage as last year, just much higher costs.

What gives??? They said Maryland rates went up... How are your rates????
I calling them and then i will be looking around....

Wholly crap, I pay about $350 a year for my 2010 EGC through Bike Line. It has a lot to do with where you live. Here in Kansas we can usually ride about 6 to 8 months out of the year. I would expect locations where you can ride all year would be higher. Don't know about Maryland though. I think I would do some shopping around.

Accidents? Points? That is almost criminal to increase your rates that much without cause!!!! Guess it's time to start shopping. If you have a clean record, I hear State Farm is very reasonable for bike insurance. I have Progressive and only pay about $350 for the year for my Street Glide, standard coverage in PA. Not a fan at all of Progressive, but they've done ok for me with cycle ins.

Wow, man, that's high! I live in South Dakota and have a 2005 Road King and just bought a new 2010 Ultra a week ago. I have additional coverage for each bike to cover the extras over and above the basic coverage, $500k per accident and $500 deductible. I pay $525 a year and that covers both! But I am married and over 40 too so that may help me!

If you are in good standing anything over a $1/day is too much.

Mine here in Atlanta went down by 50%.
Have 2 bikes. $540 a yr full coverage, for both.
Try Safeco or Liberty for rates.
Good luck.

That seems high if you have a clean record. What company was that with?
