FWIW...when I bought my SG last year, my insurance went up $ 500 a year (insuring 2 bikes). Thought that was odd but was told by Progressive thats the rate. I did not look at what I was paying for.

This year it went up anothe 200 to $ 1,400 a year. I finally looked at my policy. The uninsured motorist coverage (property and medical) was 1/2 the total premium. I carry collision on both bikes and have good health insurance through work Basically, I was paying for double coverage. I dropped both of thise coverages and reduced premium to $ 700. Texas does not require you to have unisured coverage. Some states do, even if you carry collision and have your own medical insurance coverage.

To be honest, I don't know how the uninsured crap got added to my poilcy to begin with. I could almost swear it wasn't there in 2008, but can't say for sure. Moral of the story is once in a while look at the coverage you are paying for..in my case it was unneeded coverage.

Safeco Insurance (Member of Liberty Mutual) www.safeco.com I got it through my Harley Dealer $263/yr. $236 if you do full pay and don't make payments. I use to use Markel but this beat them. 2009 RG - Full Coverage.

BTW I'm in Seacoast NH

I'm with Progressive and just got my annual renewal for my 2009 RKC - $321 annually. FYI, I am in Kansas City.

I should also note that all our other autos are with USAA, but they don't handle motorcycle insurance, and I was actually transferred to someone at Progressive while my USAA rep was on the line with me - perhaps there is a special deal cut to USAA auto members by Progressive...who knows.

I contacted HD Insurance and got quotes from Safeco and a few others...$638 a yr here in Maryland. About half the costs of Dairyland. Here in this grat state we have to pay for the uninsured motorist. I feel that is a bunch of crap, if I pay for my insurance to cover me, then why in the ever lovin' he** do I have to pay for some fool also.

Oh, the best rate I could get Dairyland to give was $952. and that's after 16 yrs with them.

I'm in New Hampshire... have Foremost, I paid a little over $500 last year for 2 bikes, 06 1200 Sportster and a 05 RK. I bought the new bike 2010 RK and was a little shocked that the rate went to $689. clean record no credit problems. I shoped around and all came in around $700

In Michigan (No Fault state) I pay $500 per year. Was that price with 2005 Deluxe and didn't change with new 2009 SERG3 (still only one bike - traded '05). $150 of that is for catastrophic fund we have to pay into for extended health care for unisured who are injured in accidents.
