Heavy gear oils usually generate more heat and rob power; that's why more manufacturers are changing to lighter synthetic gear lubes. What's different about Red Line?
Today I put the ATF Dexron III in the primary I could tell a differnce over the Syn 3 it does seam to provide a more smooth engagement of the clutch also did a few smoke runs seems to work great! Thanks Dawg I know what will go in those two holes from now on!
i only wish i could find a place that carries the redline shockproof heavy. i'd be using it rather than the royal purple that's available where i live. i'm thinking it's time for a change though it if works better. my trans is quiet, no issues, as is the primary, but if i can improve it, why not?
I am currently using Redline products in all three holes. A friend of mine orders it from someplace in Texas. I'll try to remember to ask him where he gets it from.

I used the RP 85w140 for about a year, then changed to RL SPH because of the price difference ($4/qt.). I could tell no difference, so I wouldn't go to extremes trying to get RL with the expectation of better performance, as what you have now is an excellent gear oil.
