Senior, you would likely be saying much the same about a Street Glide ride-wise. Most SG owners change out the OEM seat; many find the OEM Road Glide seat better, in fact.

And RK Classic owners often post about leather bags wrinkling, spokes needing adjustment or failing, pita cleaning the spokes and large white walls, limited saddlebag lid opening when King tour pak installed, etc. Companies make money selling fairings for RK's, stereos for RK's, etc.

Glad you are happy with your RK; I'm very happy with my EG and an RG would be on my list if I was replacing it. The RK wouldn't be 'cause I enjoy the tunes, and protection on long trips.

Nah, just drag him behind it and the ride in the saddle won't seem as rough.

HEY, I resemble that remark.

Just brought my new ultra home yesterday in a very stiff wind in Nebraska. I would have purchased the RG but it needed to have a few extras like the ultra. It would have cost way too much $$ to get even close to the ultra's amenities. The RG fairing may be ugly, but it is by far the best design for wind stability and general handling. I just wish the MOCO would stop listening to in-house designers and start listening to their customers like they used to do.

What, no Chevy Vega's or Chevette's in the family?

Personally, I like the RG, though that windscreen would have to go, but I like the Ultra I bought even better.

I, for one Road Glide owner, wouldn't ride around the block on a Road King Classic if you gave it to me. That's what they make different bikes for.

Was somebody raggin' on the new 6 speeds being whiney? That's funny. They switched to a helical cut 5th gear for 2010 and mine doesn't make a peep. Only whining I'm hearing here is, well you know.

Of course, I'll never be able to tell if mine whines or not because I can't go on real road trips with my crappy fairing, crappy suspension, crappy windshield, and gauges that are too far away to read. Not to mention the crappy floorboards, crappy 96 inch smooth as silk motor, crappy EFI, crappy dual headlights.....

Some people like to bitch about SOMETHING just to hear themselves talk I believe.

Default Done with Road Glide's

Wonder how many have got rid of a Road Glide for another model HD? Seems most of the RG riders like their ride.
