Added the extras to Ultraize the bike and also added the Road Zeppelin Air Seat,

The 2010 is a nice custom looking ride, but the lowered suspension is not the ticket for my requirements,

Don't like the 2 into 1 exhaust either, not on a touring model,

If you changed everything you did on your current bike on a 2010 you'd have the same bike that you now have, except for maybe some stock shocks off ebay for $50. I don't see why everyone complains so much about the 2010, the people that pile the miles on their RG's change the windshield & seat most times anyway, MOCO's just trying to get a new customer base just like they did with the SG, look at how well there selling. If they stay with the same crowd of people they'll eventually go out of business. My bet is they'll still come out with an Ultra version in 2011 for those looking for that option, that's why they raised the fairing so vented Ultra lower fairings can be installed, but now they've got a new base that likes the bling & cool looks of the RGC,

You are low balling the shock price for sure, good luck finding shocks for that amount, and that does not take into account the front suspension that needs revised, $$$$$

My personal taste does not lean toward the single muffler exhaust either,

As a matter of fact, I gave up on the new Harley's at the outset of the first 6 speed and 96 C.I, engine introduction. Noise from tranny and heat issues of the 96 turned me off,

That is why in early 2008 I purchased a used 2004 Road Glide at a fantastic price with the Tourpack already on it, and re-did the motor to my liking. I now have a 95 C.I. torque monster that does not have the tranny whine of the 6 speed, (which is in it's 3rd revision I believe). The cost was less than a new FLTR that still needed all the extras such as the Tourpack and heat issue modifications,

No argument with your other comments about the new models target customer, the new model just does not meet my requirements,

Ride on ButtMan, I shouldn't have picked your reply to rag on about all the people that rag on the RGC, it's just that most of the people complaining have changed out most of the things they're complaining about. There's nothing wrong with an older bike, I've got a 2000 Ultra that I turned into a SG 3 years before MOCO came up with the idea, MOCO saw all the people like me who were doing it & realized they had a new market. I liked the look of the 09 SERG & 2010 RG & thought about getting one, but looked at all the money I had in mine & decided to just turn mine into a RGC, albeit with a different windshield. I do really wish I had a 6spd though, but it's got me 77K so far so I guess I can live with it. I hope I like the RG as much as you, keep ridin & keep smilin!

I have to agree. After hearing a lot of people rave about the RG I decided to rent one last year when I was in Vegas. Didn't like it at all, especially the fairing. I'm sure some people love the RG, but not my cup of tea.

If the 2010 RG came out in 09, I would own one right now. It was the exact bike I wanted. I almost bought an orange 09 RG, but I wanted the SG lowers and the lower shocks, so I got the SG. The single exhaust makes the 2010 even better for me. I can understand those who want a RG Ultra, but for me the the Custom is perfect.

Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong here, but I don't think there is any difference between the front suspension of the RGC and any other touring bike. Everything I've read (H-D as well as magazine reviews) says the rear is lowered on the SG and RGC, but the front suspension is the same as the rest.

For the record, my '03 RG is set up to tour and I wish the MoCo would have released the rumored Tour Glide/RG Ultra. RGC is a great looking bike, but not ideal for my purposes. No cruise control, lowered rear suspension, etc.

I lowered the suspension on the Super Glide for, "The Look", and put up with the inferior ride quality of the new setup,

As my back is no longer what it used to be, I want as much suspension travel in my touring ride as possible, as I am not concerned about "The Look", of the touring ride, just comfort,

Now, if I only had one bike, what would I compromise on, looks or ride comfort,

Good question,

Yea I'll bet that's comfortable as HELL after a couple hundred miles, there has to be a middle ground between comfort & looks, & it's different for everybody.
