I went with the standard for the hard bags ,cast wheels, and the regular touring suspension.Either choice is good.

Get the Classic, it's faster.

My standard came with cruise, spoked rims are a chore, hard bags are bigger, weatherproof, and lockable. I like the looks of a standard over a classic. Cant really go wrong with either bike.

Get what you like. I got the Classic cuz I liked the looks. Some even say the leather bags are bigger. I don't know about that but they do give a little so if your crammin them it works.

All in what look ya like. Can't go wrong with either. Have fun making your choice.

I just got a 2010 RK after going through the same questions. I ended up with the hard bags because I wanted more security and I didn't want the lace spoke wheels. I really like the looks of the Road King Classic but I really like my vivid black Road King.

I went with the hard bags. The look just grabbed me and I had to buy it.

I'm ridin' a '10 Road King FLHR. I really like the looks of the Classic, however, I didn't want to deal with the high maintenance of keeping the whitewalls clean (nothin' worse looking than a RK classic with dirty whitewalls). In addition to keeping the whitewalls clean, you gotta keep those wire wheels clean and shined up. Also, I did not want a tire with a tube in it.

So, because I'm basically lazy, I went with the FLHR and not the FLHR Classic.

One tough choice, I went with the classic, the dealer did not have a standard so gave me classic same price. Love the look.
