I went with the Standard because of the cast wheels and hardbags, it's just what I wanted. Nothing wrong with the Classic though, they're nice looking machines.

One has the cruise control standard also...I think the classic...I like both but i would go for the hard bags myself.

The only thing I liked better about the classic was the tank adge and no pinstripes. The standard has the new wheel sizes and lockable hardbags. You can see what I ended up with.

I have the classic. I like the look of the leather bags, I like the fact that if I scratched them it would be hard to tell but I'd be concerned about scratching the hard bags, I would like to be able to lock the bags when running errands.

I like them both but the Classic has better looks and the cruise control is addictive. Once I tried it I didn't know how I got along without it before.

I prefer the hot rod look (especially since I went with solo seat and added a fairing), but I like the lockable hard bags and the cast wheels!

Pro's and con's to both as to how they are equipped, the good news is you cannot go wrong with either. So it comes full circle.....which grabs you? That is the one to buy.

Unfortunately they quit making the only truely cool hot rod road king. Having said that, if I were to do it again I'd go classic. Way more style.
