ARGHHH--Update.
Good stuff first. A huge humble thanks for all the incredibly positive feedback and generous comments you guys have offered up. That's really cool and appreciated. Especially you guys that PM'd me, too kind!
The small update is something my girl spotted right after I pulled up while she sat in a chair for a cool drink. She casually says "I told you turn too 'wild', look at your pipes, you scraped them". WHAT?!? Damned if she wasn't right. Too right for me sadly! I'm used to the floorboards & supports being scraped, who cares, but the pipes?! Of course Vance and Hines don't warn you about THAT one. Kind of quickly puts into perspective why the OE header is shaped like it is. Weird part is, when you install these headers, V&H supplies you with thick washers to space your floorboard supports outwards to clear the header/shields. One could expect that side to touch down earlier. OK, fine, but the pipes shouldn't touch down at the same time. The small blessing is that when the bike is upright, you really can't see it. And, it looks like that big black Sharpie marker is once again going to be my band aid friend. I just had to share that considering how many viewed the bike and liked it.
So, if you're into skills riding, tight turns or simply really leaning your bike, you may want to stay away from V&H's Power Dual headers or you could get yourself hurt. I may likely have to switch to Jamie's header as I believe it utilizes the OE shields. I'd just have to have those shields done to match the mufflers. For now I just have to be a bit more careful with right turns.
Thanks again for so many positive comments, you guys are awesome!
