I went with the 255 cams. I have seen others listed hee but they work for me just fine.

Is this a good deal hell its cheaper than the selling dealer and it even includes cams shizzzz.
My .02 either keep the 96" do a good cam, exhaust/air, and dyno with tuner and get the numbers you are talking about, or go 107" or bigger and start making some real horsepower. Fuel moto has a dyno chart with woods cam making 92 hp and 103 tq in a 96", those numbers are as good or better than most 103 builds coming from HD.

with the d&d exhaust/ big bore cylinder/255 cams/flat top pistons/SERT/adj pushrods/and gaskets with tuning the bike after 500 miles and oil change we would be at 3107.04 if you wanted to do heads it would be everthing listed above plus performance heads/acr comp releases with a total of 4137.02 Thanks

what about this deal

I agree with brockstwrt, don't waste money on a dealer build. Some dealers offer deep discuonts on dealer builds during the off season, as much as 50%; that would be the only incentive for me to ever consider a dealer build. At least you are actually paying about what it's worth for what you get.

Send your heads to Don (Dewey) Dorfman and talk to him about a cam selection for the bulid that will deliver the power you want, where you want it. 101TQ/85HP is lack luster for a 103; my 95" Deuce makes 104TQ/94HP and I know of other 95"s that are stronger. You can expect both numbers above 100 and spend a lot less money. You can spend a little more and bore your cylinders to fit new 103" pistons and expect your numbers to be north of 110. Nothing wrong with the D&D system but you can get the numbers you want with some Rush or Cycle Shack slipons and save some more $$.

Don will work with you on an exchange basis to limit downtime on the heads and cylinder boring/pistons. I am not sure how he is doing that these days, probably with a core charge that is refunded when he recevies your parts in good condition. I recommend Don because I have worked with him and respect his work and he has been a source of technical information for me when I hit a snag. Having said that, there are certainly other capable head porters for you to choose from.

I know it's tempting and very convenient to put the whole thing in the hands of a local dealer but you will be disappointed the first time you run across a lowly 95" 2002 FLHT and you can 't keep up. I noted that you said you did not want to do the engine work yourself. None of my business but just curious at to why?

Well dont mind at all doing the work hell would rather but, would like the dealer to do it just for the fact I would retain the warranty extended that I bought for 5 years. But just got off the phone with Fuel moto and they have one hell of a deal making better numbers than a 103 build. Alot cheaper than dealer prices. The only thing is Iam wanting a flat black exhaust and alot of growl. They were telling me to order the competition baffles in their dyno tuned mufflers, which were equivalent to Rienhardts sound.
