I am trying to figure out a way to connect the fender tip fascia light as a running light. The connector does not fit in the upper left hand connector behind the tail light (where it's supposed to). I'm currently using that slot for the license plate led light from the turn signal bar. The fender tip light has a wire that long enough to reach the seat pan but I could not find anything in that area that it could connect to. Can somebody please advise... Thank you.

 

On '09 and older SG's, the fascia LED plugs into the bike's tour pak wiring harness. That tour pak harness is used to provide ground,run, and brake wires for the tour pak lighting in an Ultra. The slot behind the tour pak you are currently using for the license plate LED is not used for the SG fascia LED.

I spliced mine into the connector for the license plate light - I also have it wired to be a running and brake light by using the 3rd pin in that connector. Had to cut the long wire from the tri-bar light much shorter to come up behind the fender and into the rear tail light housing. Purchased a new connector and pins from HD so it came out nice and clean.
