Default Cardo Scala / Half Helmet solution - help

I recently purchased the G4 Cardo Scala and have tried it using my old full face helmet. Love the unit but hate going back to a full face after wearing a half helmet for years now.

Has anyone come up with a solution to mounting a Cardo to a half helmet? If there is would you mind sharing and letting me know how sound quality is, both incoming and outgoing.

Would like any other solutions found other than full face.

Thanks.

I dont have the new one but the Q2 set comes with a mount with a adhesive backing. Thats what I used and it works like a charm on a few of my half helmets.

You might call cardo's main US hdqtrs. When I bought the Q2 a couple of years ago the glue plate wasn't part of the package.I made a phone call to complain about their clamp and it's inability to work on a 1/2 helmet. The glue plate was a new item. They sent me 2 + a long boom assembly free of charge.Great to do business with, they might have an answer for you.I use a Seer mod. 1602 1/2 helmet with the communication ears.Volume is good and mic. works fine with very little background noise.I've got mine paired up with my Zumo 550 and cell phone.I tend not to make calls with it.Primary use is for the gps.Their # is 412-788-3618

I think J&M has a product that allows the use of headsets in half helmets.

Great input..thanks all. I'll give Cardo a call to see what their suggestions are regarding the clamp and boom. I will also look into the HD speaker pouches since I was trying to figure out how to handle the speakers.

I currently run with the HD half helmet which is probably the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. I took about an hour ride yesterday with the old full face and was in major pain mostly from the added weight. Not to mention the claustrophobic feeling I was experiencing!

One concern with half helmet is when you're out in the rain. I haven't found a solution to face protection in this type of weather.

I have it on my half helmet. It actually sounds better on the half helmet. On the straps I velcro the speakers to the strap and sense it is right at my ear I have to turn down the volume. On the other helmets the speakers stand back from the ears so the volume is not as good but still works well. My unit uses the adhesive mount and works with no problems. Really like the setup.

several companies, including HD, make speaker pokets that slide between the helment and the helment padding. They work pretty well.
