Default Same question, from a woman, go figure

I bought a 07 Street Glide last summer. So far I'm only adding a few things to make the bike comfortable for me. But as usual, I want some sound, and not from the radio. So, having read all the post I could find here on the subject of Rinehart Slipons, I'm confused. I want just a little more sound than stock, nothing loud. My FXLR is loud when I twist the throttle a little, it has Rev Tech short duals for many years.

Will the Rinehart's be loud, or just give me that little rumble that stock doesn't have.

I think everybody has a different opinion of loud, but, I think that Rineharts are not THAT loud. My usually wake up around 3 grand and make alot of noise from 4-6k. If I'm riding that hard, the noise doesn't bother me. Another good option for some sweet deep rumble would be Rush slip ons.

Just make sure you pick some slipons that you can swap out the baffles to get the sound you want.....

Default Slipons

I read on here that the slipons baffles are not interchangeable, just the true duels are.

I have an '08 SG and was in the same boat as you. I didn't want "wake the dead" loud, but just a little more rumble. I went through several makes/models of slip ons before I came across Bub 7's. They are perfect for what I wanted. A deep growl at idle and nice deep base with the throttle twisted. Price was reasonable too. Do a search on YouTube and you'll find all kinds of sound/videos for different set ups.

I believe that with stock headers you use 2 different baffles because most of the exhaust goes out the right side, but with true duals it goes out both sides. I am using the fullsac true dual conversion and i have the same baffles in mine....but a buddy has the stock head pipes and i think he is running 2 different ones...it has been so long since i have messed with his i dont remember what sizes...but they are different.

Give Jamie at FuelMoto a call. I know he has slipon's that the Baffle's are interchangeble.

If you want a similar style to Reinharts but more mellow, look to Vance & Hines, maybe the Monster Rounds. I have Monster Ovals and love the mellow but able to bark rumble.

'03 Road King, Anniv Ed, Mustang Seats, Monster Ovals & Fuelpak, Tourpak, DCC Fairing, W1 RKII bars, Thunderstar Wheels, K&N a/c on a S/E base, lots of little chrome.

My Rinehart's are not obnoxiously loud at idle. Usually on the highway and the higher the rpm the louder they get. But they do offer a much better rumble. IMO. In fact I have been behind bikes in parking lots with straight pipes which are way louder than mine, but when we pass a car with an alarm, its not the straight pipes that set it off, its the rumble from my Rinehart's
