touring tire pressure?

I believe running a little over inflated wears better, safer handling and less heat buildup than running underinflated so I err on the side of caution, manual says 36f 40r on my 09 Ultra and I run 38f 42r cold ususally ride 2up fully loaded and I have excellent wear.

I called Dunlop with this question a few years ago and was told to use the sidewall spec for maximum durability and handling, measured when cold. The downside is that the bike may ride a bit rougher. FWIW, going higher than the sidewall spec isn't a good idea because it will expand the tire in the center and cause increased center-tread wear.
I use 37F/40R cold on my bike and have on every Harley I've owned.

And for you guys that are saying use the manual, What if the bike now has tires that use a different pressure from stock? You are giving bad advise and don't know what the hell you are talking about. Blow outs are caused primarily from under inflation. When loaded you should always run the max pressure stated on the sidewall of the tire. Running the max pressure gives the tire it's highest load rating.
