Saddlebag fell off !!
#23
I use a bolt in the rear hole, just to be sure it doesn't fall off or is stolen.
I found this rubber thing at Lowes that fit's pefect I can't remeber what it's actually called but it's in their bolt section. It looks like the letter T with a nut inside the tube part.
You cut the tube part to fit the bracket.
Then I also use fender washers inside and out.
Then an acron nut on the inside, so the threads won't screw up my hands fishing around inside the bags.
I guess I need to take pictures of it.
Then use the regular stock fasteners in the front

Same here...
...I thought I heard something come off, but didn't notice the saddlebag was missing when I looked.... ... We must have covered 50 miles or so before it came off, and although I blame myself for not having secured the locking screw, I just wondered if anyone else has suffered a similar mishap...

Hey ole ****!! I removed the brackets from my bike, took the "DZUS" fastener spring clip off, then welded a 5/16" flange nut in the hole. (fits dead on) I now use 5/16" SS allen head bolts from the inside. If you cant do this mod, putting on a set of Nostalgic rails when you get the new bag is a good idea anall. terrah

4 - 5/16" U-nuts
4 - 5/15" Chrome button head hex bolts
4 - 5/15" Chrome fender washers
all for under $15. If you go stainless I'm sure you could get down to $10 or you could reuse the stock washers. A smart thief might have a crescent wrench but how many carry allen keys with them?
