Default Speaker poll ..help me decide 8]

Bike is a 2008 FLHTC/stock HK headunit, not buying additional amp.
Currently running Infinity 2-way speakers. they sound better that the stockers, I'm looking for a bit more volume at higher speeds without distortion, nothing really fancy just clear, crisp music.

Narrowed the search down to:

>Hog Tunes front speakers & tweeter pod.
OR
>J&M front replacement speakers (not the 7s) & the Hogtune Pod.

What do you "stereo gurus" think? Let me know ...thanks!!

I'll say this about Hogtunes. Great company and product but I just personally wanted to get a bit more. Hawg Wired did it and highly recommended.

The Hawg stuff looks killer and probably is, but I'm not ready to pay that much $$, I know you get what you pay for but for what I'm looking for a simpler system will do. Just want some clear, distortion free volume at 70~75mph. That's why I've narrowed it to either the HogTunes or the J&M with the pod, really a bit more inclined towards the Hogs.

Thanks

Default hogtune speakers

I think the hog tune speakers are junk! I had a set of 7 1/4" J&Ms in my bike and sold it. I was at my local bike shop when ibought the new bike a few weeks ago and was going to put the J&Ms in but they were out. So I put the hog tunes in and even sprung for the small hog tune amp. It junk! At about half volume I get a lot of distoration. The J&Ms could be played wide open with no distoration. The Hogs are comming out this week as well as the amp and J&Ms are going back in the bike. This is my 2 cents worth.

I just installed the new 902.2 Hogtunes speakers and amp. And this was a huge improvement over stock. I highly recommend them.

Check out the Hertz 6 1/2 from wayne they are awsome. The sound is unbalivabe, you say you're not going with an AMP but I think you may change your mind what a difference that makes also. Good luck and Ride safe

I also installed the Hertz 6 1/2" from a local car audio dealer. The Hertz speakers are extremely efficient. They don't require the same amount of power to achieve the same volume that other speakers do. I was all set to do the hertz speakers with an Arc Amp. I've moved on and am completely happy with the sound now.

Downright loud and amazing sound with just the factory deck.

I paid around 110 for the speakers and 40 for the adapters.

I heard a Hawg Wired system tonight. I know they are expensive, but it sounded great. I have an Arc amp now, but I might be switching my speakers to the Hawg Wired. If I do I will have my Arc 6.5's for sale.
