Default M&M EFI question

I recently acquired a 1996 Road King FLHR/I, with 5900 actual miles on it. The service manager at the dealer told me that the motor is bone stock, no stage one. I've done a bit of net surfing and have ended up with more questions than answers on the early EFI. If I was to increase the air flow, what is the best way to enrichen the mixture? I don't intend any mods beyond Stage 1. Will the "plug-ins" like the Kuryakyn Wild Thing, or the Dynatech EFI controller, do a satisfactory job for me? Does the MoCo still offer re-maps for these? Dyna-jet has told me that they don't offer a Power Commander for my year because it was a "developemental" year. The service manager mentioned earlier said Maretti's are tempermental, not 100% consistent in performance. If this were your bike, what would you do?

Convert it to a carb. MM EFI sucks but 96 is the worst of it, conversion IS your best option.

I had a 2001 Road King with the MM. I put a big bore kit, cams, etc and kept the existing fuel injection and put a Power Commander PCIII on it and it worked fine. Not sure why they told you they don't have one. At the time I installed all the mods I was also told that I could use other aftermarket devices that allow you to increase the fuel only. Don't remember the names but if I find the info, I'll post it. The MM can be tempermental, usually the idol drifts, but it's pretty easy to adjust. Just remember, whatever you use it has to be for the bagger fuel injection prior to 2002. That's when Harley stopped putting the MM in the bikes. The non-touring bikes had the Delphi.

Here's the Power Commander I had on my '01. These guys are pretty good to talk to also. In case the link doesn't work the company is Fuelmoto and I had a PCIII USB.

I have a 1999 Ultra with MM. It has been remaped for big bore stage 2 by Harley dealer. But I have heard you couldn't do that to the earlier models. Mine runs great. Do have to adjust the fast and slow idle once in awhile. If you have the fast idle set correctly your slow idle works fine. Once you have them both set if the fast idle backs off, so will your slow idle. Don't know why, but that's been my experience. There's a guy I work with that has been doing a bunch of experimenting with MM. He thinks it great.

Jamie at Fuelmoto tells me that if I have the 1997 ECM update that the PCIII will work! Thanks RKC2001!

Technoresearch sells Direct Link product for the M&M. It will program the M&M ECU directly which much more resoltuion than any addon device. M&M bikes need to have the TB setup correctly then they can be tuned to run great.

You're welcome. Guess I need to find out how to change my handle since I don't have the RKC anymore. BTW the name of the device that just allowed fuel adjusment is a DFO (Digital Fuel Optimizer) made by Revtech.
