My '96 with an HD stage II is running fine with the black injectors and a DFO.

Has been for 5yrs.

I recently bought a used '97 ecm(the '96 couldn't be modified, the '97 is the replacement for one with problems http://hdpdf.site88.net/recall/M1066_efi_update.pdf ) with the plans of installing the red injectors and either an HD stage II download,a PC III,or both.

We'll see what happens!

I've heard a lot of negativity about the MM injection system but it's never caused me any issues and the bike has been paid for for a loooooong time(14yrs).

I first considered a carb swap when I went with the bigger cam because I knew how to tune them but I've been pretty happy with the POS MM overall.....(once i understood how it works)especially at high altitudes!

I've been considering a newer "twinky" but they have problems of their own.

I'll stick with what I have for this years 3k vacation and go from there!

The DFO is on Clearance at J&P for 80 bux, I may just snap one up. Printed out the Carb conversion info poste earlier as well though those do read like Twin Cam numbers, at least I'll know what I need. Thanks for all info and opinions.

I went to install the DFO today along with a Big Sucker but ran into a slight obstacle when I found that my wire colors don't seem to match the RevTech instructions. No service manual yet, backordered from Chicago Harley. It's running good so I guess I'll wait to be certain. I, um, kinda modified the stock mufflers a bit but I doubt that'll be a problem without the Big Sucker on yet.
