Default Black Pit Marks on Chrome

I have a 2009 HD Street Glide and have just got it back on the road after a winter break. Upon inspection of my ride I noticed some black pit marks on my chrome, my bike was stored clean in a heated garage. Is this a common problem and is there anything i can do to clean my bike

You can try 000/0000 extra fine steel wool or a chrome polish. Can you feel it with the fingernail? It may be corrosion.

Or use aluminum foil. Works real well at cleaning chrome without scratching.

It was on myth busters. Here is the way to do it:

A simple and inexpensive way to remove rust from and polish chrome surfaces by hand is to rub it with aluminum foil dipped in water (some use diet coke). This process yields two advantages.
First, since the aluminum foil is softer than steel, it will not scratch the surface.
And second, a by product of the process produces a fine metal polishing compound that smoothes the chrome surface to a bright shine.

Hmmmm...I never heard of the 'aluminum foil' trick. I'm gonna check that out!

He's not polishing steel, he's polishing chrome. In Mythbuster they used an old pick-up bumper and I'm pretty sure the chrome was not show quality.

I use S100 Polishing Soap. It work great, leaves not marks and the chromes looking awesome.
