Reach seat question

Reach seat question
I'm thinking of getting a reach seat for my 08 street glide. I think moving forward 1" and the narrow nose will help me to reach the ground better and also make me more comfortable when using the highway pegs. my question is about how this seat will be on long trips compared to a sundowner or similar type seat.

I just put this seat on my Road Glide. I have only took it on a few 100 mile trips. It is so much better than the stock. I feel like I am a part of the bike, not just sitting on top of it.
I have already took the stock seat on a cross country trip when I first got the bike. I will be taking it again back east in August. I am sure it will ride so much better than the stock seat.

i just had my seat done by bitchnstitchninc.com he moved me forward about a 1" lowered me about 1/2" and shaved out so my legs will touch ground added about a 1 1/2" on the sides for my wife put gel in her seat and mine. he does great work. i had a custom backrest made for my razor tour pack that he built from scratch. And he did all of this for a way afordable price. i also had a crocadile insert i will post some pics as soon as i can.

I tried a Reach seat on my 2009 SG. Well, I "tried" it in the HD parking lot so I didn't get any miles on it but I knew that I didn't like it.
1. For me, I didn't think it made my feet touch any better. I'm 5'7" and still felt like I had to spread my legs wide to avoid the exhaust pipe. I might have been slightly lower but not enough to justify the price of the seat IMO.
2. You do sit more in the bike but it was something I didn't like. It felt like my knees where higher than waist level for me so I wondered how my knees would feel after some miles using this seat. I'm referring to when my feet are on the floorboards. The seat changed my entire sitting/riding position compared to the stock seat. (Note: I have a RG seat on my SG.)
Good luck on your decision.

I've had four of them now on four bikes; I like mine, but then I've had them mainly out of necessity due to my height limitations, so that overrides comfort. As far as comfort, I feel that I can easily ride all day.
When H-D re-did the tank console, making it longer, in '07 (I think), it works better now for the Reach. On my '02, '03 and '06, I ended up with an unsightly gap between the seat and the tank console. No gap on my '010.

I've been riding Corbin seats these last few years. The one I have now on my 07 RKC I took the advice of another forum member and got with flame stitching. It's same price as the regular Corbin reach, but a little extra padding is added to the stitched flames. Made a difference.
