Default Ultra Limited - Which saddlebag guards?

I'm trying to decide which guards will work the best with the paint scheme on an Ultra Limited. I'm leaning towards the 'nostalgic' type - 91286-10. Do any of you FLHTK guys have guards on your bikes and if so, any pics to share?

I agree with your "leaning"...I put the nostalgic bars on my ULtd...they look the best, IMO because they don't interfere with the angle of the 2-tone paint line...they come in well below it and so complement it, again IMO...I don't have any pics yet thou, but will try and get some...good luck with whatever you choose! +1 on the Nostalgic bars, I think they will both protect your saddlebags from minor contact and still show off the lines of the paint scheme.

I went with the nostalgic and think they look great. Here's a pic.

Default Nostalgic rails vs. Twin rails

I was checking out the same set up for my scooter and saw a set (nostalgic) at the dealers on a used bike. One side was bent up into the saddlebag, after further review I decided on the twin rails based on the mounting system, two points of contact on each end vs. one on each end. I like the looks of the nostalgic rails but went for the better protection offered with the twin rails. Pictures attached show somewhat that the top rail pretty much splints the bag at the color differential line. I can live with it.

Dang it ... I was perfectly happy not thinking about saddlebag rails ... then I read this thread.

I had them on the '09 Ultra and thought they were great ... except when it came time to wash the bike. I beat the he!! out of my knuckles trying to get behind them. So when I bought the Limited I thought I was perfectly okay with the idea of now rails. Now I like the Nostalgic rails I'm seeing. Looks like another $200 item to add to my wish list.
