Question Dunlop American Elite Tires 2009/2010

It looks like Dunlop came out with an Elite 3 type tire for the 2009/2010 Touring Models.

They are called Dunlop American Elite.

Anyone have any experience with them yet?

Not that one specifically, but the 407 for 2009's from Dunlop is awesome. As long as you get a newer one. They wear well, handle corners really well and last a long time... they are quoting me 14-19k on the front. we will see.

So far I have over 6000 miles on the 407's. Front and rear look almost brand new yet. However, just looking to the future for replacement options.

I don't think they're available yet. Heard May 2010 and also Aug 2010. If you're in a hurry and can't wait, you can mount a 180/60-16 or 180/70-16. Just a few millimeters difference with the 180/65-16.

Be careful with those sizes...the E-3's in those sizes are radials. Your stock front is bias ply. Shouldn't mix the two.

The last I heard on the new Dunlop American Elite is Fall 2010.

Yes, you can mix bias and radial tires, as long as the radial is on the rear. Did it for many years on my previous bikes without any problem.

FYI--I received a catalog fro J&P Cycles. They show the tires avalable there. I am in no rush. Just looking to the future. www.jpcycles.com

These are not Elite 3's. It is similar too however.

A dual compound tire is always going to be more expensive than a traditional single compound tire.

Does anyone know what HD charges for a stock rear tire for the 09s and 10s?

What does this new tire cost?
