I have chrome ones on my front fender. Got them on my truck and my wifes SUV. Dont know if they work or not. Never had any deer run out in front of me in any of my years of driving. Some say the work and some say they dont. Maybe Ive been lucky so far. Knocking on wood!

Love opening wormy cans do you?

Well, I know lots of people who say they have proof they work, others with proof they don't work.

The way I see it, if it isn't ugly and doesn't hurt anything, it is like chicken soup for a cold, it can't hurt. Just don't RELY on any device to save you from something as stupid as a deer (or a driver!).

But when I did the One Lap of America in 1996, (5000 miles, mostly at night at high speed in my cage) many cars collect deers each year. i had the whistle I will give you a link to and we saw several and they all looked, and turned away. So all of my cars have them. Then last summer, I was in the country, 40 mph enjoying a nice evening in my car and BAM. Small deer came from the ditch and took out my LF bumper/fender.

The body shop thought it was hilarious when I asked them to take the deer whistle off the bumper cover and save it for me....REALLY!

Anyway, I like this whistle, not big, not ugly, and I use it, work or not.

Thirty years living in heavy deer country (I can see deer out my window as I type this) tell me no. Even if the deer are alerted to your presence, the device doesn't make the deer any smarter.

I have to agree. Even if the deer can hear that thing what's to keep his escape route from being directly in front of you?

I'd say no - ran them on my truck for years, see plenty of deer, they don't behave any differently. I DO wonder if the more expensive electronic ones do anything.
