Thumbs up thanks All

thanks for the suggestions everyone. I tried the GPS and power cable in my truck and it's OK. Looks like tomorrow the outer fairing is coming off for a little trouble shooting.

So how do you get the stock cigarette lighter out of the fairing. Do you go from the outside and try to unscrew it (what do you grab it with?). Or do you unscrew the outer metal sleeve from the inside of the fairing? Mine kind of looks like the outer sleeve is "molded in" to the back of the inner fairing...

Pull off the outer fairing and un-plug the wires. You then un-screw the outer cover from the lighter socket and it comes right out. The HD accessory outlet fits right back in its place and will solve your power problem. The HD lighter sockets are different than the power point socket.
