You can use floating if you want to.

05-07 FLHP's w/ABS use a rotor with a tone ring attached to them not the encoded bearing like the 08 and later ABS bikes.

To my knowledge there are no floating rotors with an ABS tone ring available!

If you used a floating rotor without the tone ring you WOULD NOT have ABS anymore!

Ahh, I missed the year of the bike. I was assuming it was an 08 or later ABS. As hog-doc stated the bearings have the encoder in them on the 08 and later like mine. You would need to find floaters that have the tone ring.

The tone ring looks like it is held on with drive rivets on my 07. You should be able to drill and tap the new rotors and mount the old ring on them.

Or you could just do like I'm planning on doing, and pitching the whole abs mess. I don't think the Nissin abs works particularly well, and just adds weight and takes up space in your right saddlebag. To me, it's more trouble than it's worth.

i understand your position. i am going to keep the abs, sons are riding this bike mostly and any added safety features are my first priority. thx
