Just looking at the year, 2001 Vs 2006, I suggest going for the 2006. The motor is improved. There were changes in the oil routing and cases. The injection system was improved.

Just the RK is newer and improved. I even love my Road Glide. But I would go with the newer one. Just my opinion.

xtremechopper makes a good point there at the end -- these are not the only two bikes out there. You don't have to just say, should I buy this Road Glide or this Road King. If you decide that you really want a Road Glide, don't be dissuaded from it just because this particular scoot is a year you want to stay away from. Find a RG you like and want to own.

Me? I'm delighted with my Road King. I had a loaner Road Glide for a day (back when I owned a Dyna) and took it through its paces on a ride through the canyons. I know everybody talks about how great the ride is, but I just didn't see it or feel it. If you do . . .
