I have an 06 RK and I wouldn't change it for anything. Smooth, sleek look, and a classic

Music on the Glide is nice......removable shield on the King would also be nice.
Your test ride should be the deciding factor........

No doubt it's a personal choice. I had an '06 RK before moving to my '09 RG last summer. I loved the styling, ride of the, the removability of the windshield on the RK. I even had hard saddlebags and a removable tourpak on it. But I RARLEY removed the windshield, I wanted more frontend wind protection....and I wanted tunes! I have NO REGRETS and I'm very happy with my RG. My wifed kidded me about the cost of getting a stereo (the price of a new bike), but when she saw me listening and the extra creature-comforts I had, she traded her '05 Softail Deluxe in on an '09 SG! Good luck with your choice!!

I just sold my 98 Dyna and purchased an 08 105th anniversary edition RK. Looked at the SG and RK side buy side at my dealer. Like the classic look of the RK and the fact that I can remove the windshield. Have always like the RK and as mentioned in a previous post buy what you like.

Good luck.

I don't ride without the windshield very often, but when I do it reminds me of the dreams I used to have when I was a kid -- the ones where I could fly. I might add a removable fairing someday, but for me . . . it's the King.

I think you'll find this to be a pretty easy decision after you ride them both. You'll be in love with one of them. The other, not so much. buy the one you love

My bad guys. The bikes I have ridden with stock stereos and speakers are not loud enough to here at high speeds. I know some guys looking to get louder. Are you guys running with stock sound systems?

If the RG was a 2002 I would say go with the glide but the 2001 has the MM injection which is plagued with issues. Even with that being said, you didnt mention price and mileage. That would play a huge role in my deciding. As for just ride quality/opinion, I will tell you, I rode my king for over a year happy as apig in s**t but then wanted more so I then converted to a Roadglide and wish I had done it from the getgo. If I were to do it all again I would have just bought a RG from the beg. and saved myself alot of money and time. But, like was said, you have to ride the 2 and see what suits you better. If it is the RG then Me personally, I would shop around and get a newer year.
