Default Chrome Buttons Install Price

Yes, I know I can do this myself but sometimes my time is worth more than money. Plus I like the idea of the dealer having to take responsibility if something screws up. So my question is this. How much time should a dealer charge me to replace all the control buttons on my 09 Ultra with the chrome ones? Thanks.

Takes me about an hour to do them...............worst job I do for people.

My advice to people is to buy 2 kits, you always end up breaking one of the buttons.

Boy, that's an interesting question. Used to be in the gool o'le days, mechanics would just look up the task and there would be assigned time for the task. If the assigned time was 1.5 hours, then that was the charge even if it only took 1 hour. The problem you're dealing with here is that you have have no idea who will be doing the work. If it is a guy that has done hundreds of these, it could go very fast. But if the job gets assigned to some dweeb that has to sit and read the directions, it could take triple the time. Plus, if they are charging actual time, you have no way of knowing if your guy is taking a 20 minute dump with his favorite comic book in the middle of your job.

Let us know what the dealer says the cost will be.

Just talked to the local dealer, Sound Harley in Smokey Point, WA. The labor only to install the buttons is $188. 2 hrs. Their labor rate is $94 per hour.
