Default Q. about 2009 Road Glide Seat

The RG seats are used by some to replace the Street Glide seats, which by most accounts are not comfortable at all. Will a 2009 Raod Glide seat work for a 2010 Road King Std. model, and if so, would this be an improvement? Anyone done this mod?

By "work" do you mean fit?

If you have HD dealership nearby you may want to just ask them. And even see if they'll let you put it on your bike for a quick test fit.

And yes, I think the RG seat is better than the SG seat; that's what I have on my SG.

From what I have heard it is the 08 Road Glide Seat that works best for the Street Glides. Earlier years will not fit and the 09 has many of the same problems as the SG seat. I've been looking for good deal on a 08 RG seat for a few months now and then plan on sending it out to MCC for some work.

407Guy, did you get a 08 or the 09 RG seat for yours?

I have the 08 Road Glide seat on my 09 Street Glide. It is very comfy and I have not had to have MCC redo it yet.
............and I am pretty picky (just ask my wife)

Allen at Mean City Cycles says to buy an 08 seat. According to him the 09 Road Glide seat will have to be redone pretty quickly, beause Harley changed to a cheaper foam in 09.

The 2010 Road Glide seat is the same crappy seat the Street Glide has always had.

I have a 2009 RG seat on my 2009 SG. And I bought another one (used) that I'm sending to Mean City. I'm only sending it to help narrow the seat and drop it about 1/2".

BTW RKKY nice pick up (XB12X). I used to have a XB12XT.

Thanks for the info. I had the RG seat on my SG; I want to know if it works as well on a Road King.

Well, this could explain why after 20K miles my '09 RG seat is no longer comfortable. It was perfect in the beginning, but it is starting to suck now. I just thought it was in my mind.
