Many years ago, moving from Memphis to San Diego, I pulled my bike (72 Sporty) simular to that. The truck was full of my stuff, got a reciever hitch, welded a used front axle to it, removed the front tire, bolted the forks to the hitch, and pulled it all the way without straps. When you're poor, you can do anything.

As for emergency use, if that is all there is, ???

Had a very similar one in the 70's from JC Whitney. I used it a few times and had trouble when turning. The bike wanted to lean over. The straps then came from the center and you tied out to the handle bars.

This looks like a better design for the strap location and should control the bike better. Ratchet straps are better today than the slip type I used back in the day.

I would say that they would work but they should be checked often and used slow and as wide as possible in turns.

I have just under $500 in this:

You can have it for $400.

Towed and 840 lb Rune 1,500 miles. Tows like its on rails.

Looks like something Reid or Pelosi would design. The Mistress would never stop screamin' if I tried to strap her to that thing!!!!
