I had to use the strap wrench and screwdriver on the first oil change. Now I use the K&N. The K&N works great!

I bought the HD filter wrench. I changed my own at 5000 miles. The filter was on so tight the wrench would slip. I used a little sandpaper to make it tighter. Finally got it off. At 10,000 didn't have as much trouble. At 15,000 Had trouble again. This time when it got it off, I threw the filter wrench away still attached to the filter and installed a K&N. I'm not dreading the next oil change.

I've never seen a filter that a strap wrench couldn't get off.
