Default Question about heads

Ive been looking for some project heads and I want to know the difference between the heads from the 88's and the heads off the 96's. are the bolt patterns the same? Are they interchangable with minimal work? I want to try a few things but Im not sure if they will work on my 07' RKCustom. Thanks for the help

Parts guys tell me the 88 heads would work on a 96 engine except the front top engine to frame
mounts are in different locations. I don't know if there are any adaptors to take care of
this problem. I have some 88 SE heads I'd like to put on my new "Limited" but not sure
if it can be done.

I am not sure but I think there is more to it than bolt patterns and frame mounts. A big part of it is the volume of the heads. I would think that because they are SE heads they would be more compatible on a 96" motor but this something a builder or tuner should advise you on.
