It was awful. Im sure the way i ride had something to do with it or maybe i should have kept more air in it. Maybe I should convince the women i ride with to lose weight. who knows. either way I hated those tires and the next time i buy a harley it wont leave the shop without new tires. Love the Pirellis! have i said that enough yet?

My 2008 SG has 14,521 on the original Dunlap stock tires. The front hasn't worn much at all and the back tire still looks pretty good like it could go another couple to a few thousand. I hope my next set is this good. I've taken a few long trips including a 4,100 mile trip last year so a lot of the mileage is highway miles. My neighbor across the street from me has a 2006 and he had to replace his around 9.5K, but he has more local miles than me.

2008 RG
Pushing 27K on the original frt. Only getting about 9K on the rear X 3 = due to nails and screws.
I'm going to Elite 3 this time. They don't have an exact match for the rear.
But I'm told a MU90B16 will fit.

i got 11k on my 08 sg stock tire, a dunlop d 407 i think. i replaced it with the E-3, what a great choice of tire. the e3 is superior in every way to stock. it does not track or follow in rain grooves. and they claim that the e-3's wear much longer than the stockers. i know it sure handles much better with the e3, as many will agree to, if they've switched. can't wait for my stock front tire to wear out so i can replace it with an e3 as well. lots of discussion several months ago about the e3's. i couldn't be happier. they work great. the best price i found at the time was dennis kirk.

Thanks for all your info. Guess I have to keep the same brand rear. The guy at my shop said it's best if the tires match. (brand wise) only $180 installed.

I haven't heard that you should keep the tires as a matched set.

Can anyone comment?

The amount of miles per tire = how you ride, tire pressure, solo or two up, city or highway, down shift or use brakes. I am sure I missed a few more, but your miles may vary. As others have said, tire cosmetics also have an impact. I can go 14,000 on one and 9000 on another.
