Default Tall Road Glide Riders - Need Some Advice!

I have an 03 Road Glide that I picked up used recently. The guy I picked it up from was about 5'7 and I am 6'5. Surprisingly, the bike fits good, except the windshield blows air right into my eyes. The windshield that it is on there is about an 8.5, and looks pretty standard. I want to switch to something else, but don't want to waste money experimenting.

I would like something that is pretty short but that directs the air away from my face - any tips?

Good luck finding the right windshield on your first try.......
I'm 6'3" and have a 10" dark smoked shield from BikersDelight on
my '08 RG........
I still feel the wind as it deflects over my forehead, not enough
to disrupt the ride, or the music, or our conversations.

Cool

I am 6'4" and I have a klock werks that I love. I think it reduced the airflow around my head, less buffeting. You should also take into consideration...do you wear a lid when you ride? Full-face, 1/2, 3/4, they all make a difference. Just my humble opinion...

... i'm 6'2 & went w/the taller HD shield. Already had lowers on, so the buffeting wasn't really an issue, just hearing the stereo @ speed

Your best bet might be trying the Kuryakyn airmaster touring shield. I'm 6'3" and had to cut mine down it was so big.. the sucker is 21" tall stock.

Here is a pic I took when I first got it put on.

I wouldn't go with anything less than a 16" windshield for good wind protection.

Good luck with this - its almost a constant work in progress.
I scrapped the stock shield after one day. Ordered the HD tall shield, gave good wind protection but forced me to sit too tall in the saddle - I'm only 6-1. It also vibrated alot at speed. From there ordered the Clearview GT medium i think. this shield is solid, no vibration and really clear. i ordered a blemished shield at the cheaper price - never could find the blemish. The only issue I had with this shield was with the HD chrome trim - even with their upgraded kit the trim sat to high. Went back to the HD tall and cut it down 1 1/2 " - wind protection is perfect but still has the vibration.
Called Vic at Klockwerks last week - really helpful guy. I explained my set up on the bike and how tall I am & he recommended the shield. What I really liked was that if the shield wasn't right they would exchange it for shorter or taller with me paying just the shipping. Could resist that so placed the order.
Anyway good luck with it & oh yeah do a search - one of the forum members set up a windshield fitment guide for the RG

Mike
