Got them on my new Ultra Limited, i live in florida and the way this winter has been, used them 4 times already in the two weeks I have had the bike. Go for them even if they are the aftermarket brand. The only complaint i have is that i am stuck with what came on the bike unless I want to spend $$$ for a different style.

its much easier than it seems. When I got the kit I was like AW CRAP after looking at the instructions. but took my time and worked through it and it was WELL worth the litte bit of "figuring and scratching my head"
you cant go wrong

If you buy certain parts for a new bike and have them installed by the dealer in the first 60 days they are covered by the bike warranty term. My experience is that if they are parts that are covered they are easily installed by the owner and thus not worth paying the dealer to do. Certain parts are not covered - or at the very least are a gray area - such as cams.

Never used them in over 50 years of riding. Then last year I decided to do the ALCAN and the Dalton to the Arctic Circle. I got a Buell Ulysses XT for the trip that comes standard with heated grips. It was below normal temps when we started. I used the heated option for the next nine days due to rain and cool temps.
I would not be without them. In the past I rode in cold weather with big thick mitten type gloves with a big cuff. But I decided I wanted a smaller glove for better use of the controls so the heated grips were needed.
They don't cost much and have little maintenance.
