If you plan on riding in cold weather, just invest in heated gloves/clothing.
I have a limited with heated grips. Last weekend I rode when the temps were in the low 30's, and wore my gerbing heated gloves/jacket. Heated grips will not keep your hands warm in cold weather while wearing thick gloves.

I have Harley's heated grips and I feel the heat thru my heavy gloves. What I 've found is when at idle I guess there's not enough juice to heat the grips, but if you keep the motor spinning over 2500 rpms for a while the grips get hot enough that I need to turn the thermostat down a bit.,,

I don't have them. But would like to.
But do some searching on this forum and you'll find lots of people have had them and they croak on you after a while. And since H-D warranty is something like 90 days on products not installed when you buy the bike, you're out the money.

Same here -- On my Limited, the heated grips work well until the lower 30s; after that, my Gerbings (Jacket & gloves) get the nod. However, I love 'em the rest of the time -- they are true comfort. And, on the Limited, they come with a 2-year warranty.
