Default 08 ULTRA....... Falling in love again..

I have been looking at trading my 08 ultra in for about a month now. Its a frustrating process finding out something I paid so much for and took good care of is worth so little when its time to trade. My wife has been supportive of the idea to trade (been looking at road king classics). I probably shouldnt have bought such a bike with all the touring gear on it but we do enjoy making long runs together (been to sturgis, vegas, and the blue ridge parkway since we bought it). all that being said, I think that the only way you can be truly happy with anything is to just quit looking for something to replace it. I actually had a deal just about done until I spent several hours this weekend polishing and cleaning my bike back to showroom shiny. Yesterday the sun was out and it was warm enough to go for a nice ride and it was obvious, I really think the best way to avoid throwing another 5-6000 dollars away is to enjoy the bike I still love.....mine.

Good for you....maybe you want a little less luggage when out and the RKC looked attractive? There is a write-up in here recently on making the tour-pack a quick disconnect. Might be cheaper to do that mod and give your U/C a different feel once in awhile.

I also agree in don't look so much at the new bikes and be happy with what you have. I have been through the same thought process on mine and ended up deciding what I have does everything I want it to do and to keep her.

Many a time I have regretted selling some of my bikes from the past.

Currently have an 08 and finally feel it is at its sweet spot

255 Cams, tru duals, and other added stuff.
The only reason for a trade would be for the new frame

But right now my 08 is running strong, and feels great.

If I had an '08, I would think that I was in heaven. Oh well, I think that anyway with the old '02.......... I believe it would be a wise thing to keep your '08, but you know way better than I what is best for you. Either way, ENJOY that Harley!

ABSOLUTELY!!!! It's amazing when you step back and think about it, How much better your bike looks and rides when the stealer wants a ton for a new one. Last year I had an 09 EGC, I wanted ABS so I went to my Dealer and looked at the 2010 Ultra Limited. He didn't want to give me chit for mine, but added 2K to the retail on his. I walked out and found a nice 08 UC 105th with ABS and only 4400 miles. Been smiling ever since
