Default Glowing Red Header Normal?

I just had my 2005 Ultra idling in my garage for about 10 mins and noticed that the front header was glowing red beneath the heat shield. Is that normal? My configuration is Rinehart True Duals, Alren Ness Intake & PCIII mapped/tuned by Zippers. The Head temp was 309 degrees according the the Dakota Digital.

My first thought is you probably shouldn't leave it idling for 10 minutes since an air cooled engine requires air moving over the engine to cool it down. Having said that, if you do let your bike idle for extended periods, things do tend to get hot. After some time, more than just your exhaust header will be glowing.
